Sending a Flurry of Warm Christmas Wishes

I watched the most recent video from the Jennifer McGuire Ink Blog and literally ran out to my nearest craft store to pick up some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays!

I am in love with this technique and how easy it was to get such a unique look! There are so many possibilities with different colors of cardstock and distress oxide sprays.

My local craft store didn’t have a great selection of colors so I ordered a few online and I can’t wait to play with them.

Classic Christmas Cards

I’m loving the look of these classic Christmas colors!! I also think gold goes so well with them.

I used the collaboration stamp from Gina K and Simon Says Stamp from the Stamptember event this year. The gold pigment ink is from Altenew and is absolutely gorgeous!

I kept the sentiment clean and simple so the gold stamping could be the focus. The gold cardstock from Gina K goes perfectly with the gold pigment ink.

Hello!

Hello and Welcome to Kathleen Burke Designs! I’m so glad you are here!

My name is Kathleen and I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota with my other half, Brian. I am a registered nurse working full time nights (by choice!). I usually have no issues sleeping during the day and have always been more of a night owl. I do a lot of my crafting late at night or my weekends off.

I always loved the idea of stamping and card making but I didn’t take the leap until the summer of 2018 after going to the Pinners Conference in Minneapolis. There was a booth selling wood mounted stamps and I fell in love! I took a few a bag of them home and I was hooked!

My creative backstory.
When I was a kid my mother would make/decorate our birthday cakes – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Winnie the Pooh, Barbie, etc. She taught me how to decorate cake at a young age and soon I was making family and friends birthday cakes, graduation cakes, anniversary and even a couple wedding cakes. While going to school for my BSN I didn’t make many cakes but after moving to Minneapolis I started making them again. However, I discovered that making cake is super stressful (for me) and transporting them is even worse!

I still make them from time to time but I found card making is more relaxing and much easier to transport!!
